Test- Pre-Recording Preparation Tips (with Performedia)
Hi there!
Thanks so much for your willingness to participate in this virtual event! Below are some tips for
optimizing your space and preparing for your pre-recording session.
âž” We will be pre-recording your presentation using the Zoom video application. Make sure you
have a working camera on your computer, and the Zoom application downloaded.
âž” We will be capturing your audio and video as well as any slide presentation you may share. Plan
to share your presentation using the “Share Screen” functionality on Zoom.
âž” Set your computer monitor to the highest resolution possible (1920x1080 or higher preferred,
if possible). To do this, go into the "Display" settings on your computer. There should be a setting for
"Display Resolution" usually with a dropdown menu of different dimensions. Be sure to pick the one
that says "1920x1080." If there is a setting that has higher numbers, choose the highest possible
numbers.
âž” Please make sure that while you are recording you are not competing for bandwidth with other
household or office mates. They should suspend heavy bandwidth activities while you are
recording, if possible. You can check your bandwidth by visiting www.speedtest.net; ideally, your
upload speed should be above 6mbps.
âž” Find a quiet and well-lit place to do your pre recording. Make sure there is no window in the
background that makes your face look too dark, or not too much light so we can’t see your face.
